INDIANAPOLIS (July 2, 2014) — Valeo Financial Advisors, LLC, one of the largest fee-only financial advisory firms in the Midwest, has been named by Financial Times as one of the top 300 Registered Investment Advisers (“FT 300”) in the publication’s inaugural list of the best advisors across the U.S.
The Financial Times, an international daily newspaper that focuses on business and economic news, compiled the “elite” list after reviewing more than 2,000 independent Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firms with $300 million or more in assets under management (AUM). Criteria included AUM growth, years the firm has been in existence, industry certifications of staff, firm’s SEC compliance record and online accessibility.
The average FT 300 practice manages more than $2.8 billion in AUM and serves more than 3,000 clients. Valeo Financial Advisors, with a staff consisting of 24 CFP® professionals, two CFA® charterholders and four Certified Public Accountants, serves more than 500 families with $2.9 billion of net worth throughout the United States.
“We are honored to be included in such a prestigious list,” said John Trott. “Instead of simply ranking advisors by size, the Financial Times took the time to review compliance records, industry certifications and online accessibility/transparency which are all more important factors when hiring a financial advisor.”
FT 300 Disclosure:
The 2014 Financial Times Top 300 Registered Investment Advisors is an independent listing produced by the Financial Times (June, 2014). The FT 300 is based on data gathered from RIA firms, regulatory disclosures, and the FT’s research. As identified by the FT, the listing reflected each practice’s performance in six primary areas, including assets under management, asset growth, compliance record, years in existence, credentials and accessibility. Neither the RIA firms nor their employees pay a fee to The Financial Times in exchange for inclusion in the FT 300.
