Transitioning Your Schwab Accounts to Fidelity

As communicated in a previous email to all impacted clients, Valeo’s institutional relationship with Schwab Advisor Services will conclude on October 22, 2020. We have prepared this page to answer common questions and provide helpful guidance.

Your advisor and the entire Valeo team are available to answer any questions you may have.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  • What actions do I need to take?

Between 9/3 and 9/8 you should receive an e-mail from Agreements Express, a third-party assisting Fidelity with the account transition. This email will provide a link to verify your identify, review, and sign the package of forms to open the account, transfer funds and provide options for the account. Please contact your advisor or contact the Valeo operations team at Operations@ValeoFinancial.com if you did not receive the e-mail or have questions about the forms or the links.

  • What are the fees involved with this transition?

You will not pay any fees associated with this transition. Schwab has agreed to waive all transfer-of-asset fees, and Fidelity has agreed to reimburse any that might be missed.

  • Where can I learn more about Fidelity's fees and services?

We have an institutional pricing agreement with Fidelity and have secured pricing that is equal-to or better-than Schwab's in nearly all cases. You can see a detailed breakdown of the fee comparison at the "Learn More About Fidelity Investments" link on this page.

  • How do I access my accounts once they are moved to Fidelity?

Access to your accounts will change from Schwab.com to Fidelity.com. You can learn more about how to access and use Fidelity's website at the "Fidelity.com" link on this page.

  • What if I don't want to move my accounts to Fidelity?

You can continue to expect the same high-level of comprehensive planning and investment advice from us even if you choose not move your accounts to Fidelity. As of October 22, however, we will be unable to place trades or initiate money movement on your behalf. Additionally, there may be a slight disruption to your performance reporting while we work to re-connect your Schwab account to our performance reporting software. Finally, fees associated with transactions and maintenance on your account will transition to Schwab's retail pricing (found on the "What We Charge" page at Schwab.com).
